No. Florida recently passed a “Super Speeder” law (effective July 1, 2025) that makes it a criminal offense to drive at 100 mph or more, or 50 mph over the posted limit. Violators may face:
- Up to 30 days in jail and $500 fines for a first offense
- Up to 90 days in jail and $1,000 fines for repeat offenses
- Possible license suspension or revocation
- Impoundment of the vehicle used in the offense
Due to this law and the extreme risk it poses, Regal Velocity strictly prohibits driving any rental vehicle at or above 100 mph. Vehicles equipped with telematics may be monitored for speed violations.
Any renter found to have exceeded 99 mph will be in violation of the rental agreement, and may be responsible for:
- Immediate termination of the rental
- Full financial liability for any resulting damages or impound fees
- Loss of security deposit and denial of future rentals
Our vehicles are built for performance, but we expect all renters to drive responsibly and within the bounds of Florida law.
